You Don’t Win Friends With Salad

That is not only true, but also rhythmically compelling.

But I do win salad with salad. And thats not so bad.

The only thing remarkable about this cabbage, lettuce, green onion is the dressing.  And EGADS is it a spectacular dressing!!

-1/2 inch of ginger, unpeeled and grated.

-1 tablespoon of rice wine vinegar

-1/2 teaspoon of sesame oil

-2 tablespoons of olive oil

-salt, pepper

-black sesame seeds

Seriously, I’d drink the stuff.

We made this last night and loved it. I made two changes out of necessity. My ginger wasn’t so fresh so I ditched the peel and we only had white sesame seeds. This was such a nice change of pace. Normally, we do oil and balsamic or a standard vinaigrette. OK, and sometimes Ken’s blue cheese Caesar.

@Rufus – I’m so glad you tried it!! Doesn’t it open up a whole new world of salad options? Definitely helped me mow down a lot of raw root vegetables.

We’ve been talking about making our own dressing for ages. Will have to try this one!
